A warning for parents and international ballet students: My daughter attended this school at the age of 16, traveling alone from Mexico to Portugal with the dream of growing as a dancer. What we encountered was deeply disappointing — and emotionally damaging. What appears on social media to be a serious ballet program is, in reality, a manipulative system built on favoritism, exploitation, and personal agendas. The school’s resources and attention were directed toward a small group of “favorites,” mainly the director’s daughter (who was quickly placed as a soloist in a German company) and a couple of selected students used to promote the school’s image internationally. The director hides behind a polished public image, but lacks ethics, empathy, and true commitment to the well-being of her selected students. My daughter was mistreated, isolated, and eventually sent to a remote location — without proper care or supervision. The environment was cold, elitist, and toxic. Her husband seemed involved only as a financial figurehead just interested clearly in money to pay expensive renowned teachers for their select group. If you wanted classes with them , of course more money was needed. It became painfully clear that students from around the world were being brought in not to be nurtured — but to serve the personal goals of a chosen few. This experience left a deep mark on my daughter. And although this happened in 2020, I refuse to stay silent any longer. If you’re a parent considering this school, please look deeper before trusting your child’s education and emotional safety to this place. “Families deserve truth, not carefully staged illusions built to serve a select few.”
