My husband & I are new residents of Portugal and wanted to start learning the language right away. Caravela was recommended by several others that moved from the US to Portugal so we signed up. Best decision we made! Our instructor, Catarina is spectacular! I'm not a fast learner of languages so I've struggled a bit but she is been supportive, helpful and fun every step of the way. We had trouble with wifi in the beginning and she graciously rescheduled the class when we just couldn't connect. I give Caravela and Catarina my highest recommendation! We finished the first unit and once we close on our house will reach out to start the next unit. Our plan is to do at least 3 units. Muito obrigada Catarina!

We are now on our fourth course with Escola Caracela. We use the small class with maximum 3 people. . The course is demanding, but there is no easy way to learn Portuguese. We are very satisfied with our progress so far and will continue on - even after we passed our A2 exam

I finished the A1 and A2 course with Caravela and it's been nothing if not a joy to experience. The classes were long enough for me to actually feel like I'd done a lot of work by the end of each one and whilst the students are required to put a fair bit of time into their homework, it more than pays off. The teachers have proven themselves not only knowledgeable but incredibly patient and up for a laugh here and there. If you're serious about learning Portuguese, do enroll in a (or several) course(s) with Caravela; it's more than worth it!!
