Faust is fabulous. I have taken Portuguese Classes with other groups and I can quite succinctly tell you that In the short time I have had classes at Faust I have learned so much more and faster. I am way more confident speaking with other people.

An excellent way of learning Portuguese. Teachers are attentive & kind. Very professional outfit when preparing for CIPLE exams. Would highly recommend this school.

A complete beginner learning Portuguese, the course I took from October till June was excellent. Great teacher and all the staff at Faust couldn’t do more to make the experience of learning a new language so enjoyable! On to level two now…!!!

I can't recommend this language school for learning English! I took a private course, paid over €800, and I learned nothing new! I changed teachers, but they had no methodology, no plan. Every time I came, they seemed clueless, as if they weren't prepared for me. During the entire course, I spent all my time talking about myself and playing a game of "get a picture and tell what it shows." EVERYTHING! There were no topics about English tenses, no peculiarities, no pronunciation, and apparently no time for me! It was a complete waste of time and money!

Extremely negative experience — I wouldn’t recommend this school even to my worst enemy. I took an English course at this school, paying €700 upfront, and I can say with absolute certainty that I have never been treated so poorly and disrespected in my entire life — especially by someone who owns an educational institution. Ethics, professionalism, and human decency were completely absent. Shortly after the course began, the COVID-19 pandemic started. Everyone was required to wear masks, specifically the common blue surgical masks. The teacher — an elderly woman — spoke so softly that it was impossible to hear or understand her. On top of that, lip reading, which is essential when learning a new language, was out of the question. As a result, I stopped attending the classes — there was no learning, just wasted time and effort. The following year, I made the unfortunate decision to return to the school and ask the owner if I could simply attend the classes as a listener, given that I had no benefit from the previous course and, after all, €700 is not €0.70. She asked me to return the following week for a meeting. I did. Upon arrival, I was taken to a room where the psychological abuse began: “What happened to you? Did COVID eat your brain and make you unable to learn a second language?” I was stunned. I had my phone recording the conversation while I sat there in disbelief, wondering how someone — a foreigner who came to my country to earn a living — could treat me so disgracefully. I couldn’t help but wonder: “Are they doing this because I’m Black?” Despite the abuse, I still wanted to complete the course, so I overlooked the incident — a mistake on my part. The following week I returned to start the classes. However, it was clear the owner was not happy about having allowed me to rejoin the course. It would have been more honest and respectful for her to say: “Unfortunately, it’s not possible.” Instead, she gave me a contradictory, abusive contract, full of clauses that felt like a trap — almost criminal in nature. I was told that unless I signed it, I would not be allowed to attend the course “for free.” I replied: “This contract imposes conduct that is harmful to me. It’s clearly a setup.” I refused to sign and walked away from the school. I’ve been a teacher for over 20 years, and I have never encountered such a horrendous and disrespectful situation. The owner’s behavior — unbalanced, malicious, and deceitful — completely discredits what should be a serious and committed learning environment. I would not recommend this school even to my worst enemy.
