As aulas de dança na Jazzy Dance Studios em Cascais são uma ótima opção para crianças que querem explorar diferentes estilos de dança. Embora os professores sejam descritos como bons e pacientes, alguns alunos mencionaram dificuldades de comunicação e falta de orientação inicial. É recomendável verificar os horários e considerar uma aula experimental para ver se se adequa ao seu filho.
As a Black American man who doesn’t speak Portuguese, I was a bit nervous—especially after reading a past review about language challenges. But all my worries melted away when I arrived and took my first group class with Roberto. Roberto’s English was limited (still much better than my Portuguese!!!) and he was incredibly patient, kind, and passionate about his students, which included me the moment he met me—Roberto made absolutely sure I understood everything and all of my group classmates also reached out to help me every step. Office Manager Soraia booked everything and made sure all my questions were answered and the other students—many multilingual—were warm, generous, freaking gorgeous, encouraging, and were all ages, languages, and dance styles. Huge shout-out to Carlotta at the café, who made sure I always had water and a kind smile. This studio went above and beyond to make me feel included, respected, and fully invited to dance as family. Highly recommend that any travelers choose Jazzy! //// Embora não seja falante nativo de português, senti-me super bem recebido no Jazzy. Fiz quatro aulas de salsa cubana (grupo e particulares) e adorei a energia, o apoio dos colegas e o cuidado dos professores. A Soraia ofereceu ajuda sempre que precisei, e a comunidade aqui é linda—acolhedora, respeitosa e divertida. Convido todos os locais a virem experimentar. Vale mesmo a pena!

I joined an Afro Fusion class with David as a newcomer, excited to learn. Since I do not speak Portuguese at a sufficient level yet, I politely asked the instructor to explain in English. The first request was ignored. When I repeated it - louder, simply trying to understand - he said: “We’re in Portugal. What do you demanding for?" After the class, I asked the instructor if it’s okay to ask for explanations in English when a student clearly doesn’t understand. His response? That I behaved unprofessionally. Let me emphasize: a student in their first class asks for basic clarity, and the teacher decides to lecture them about professional conduct. The irony would be funny if it weren’t so dismissive. In a creative, international space like dance a dance school, this kind of rigid and dismissive attitude is dissapointing. It left me feeling excluded and ashamed - simply for not speaking the local language yet. I wouldn’t recommend this class to international students expecting a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Fui por indicação de uma amiga e no mesmo dia da aula experimental, fiz a matrícula. No meu primeiro dia de aula fiquei completamente perdida, não mostram o local, só apontaram onde era. Quando fui perguntar para me orientar, fui tratada com completa indiferença. Só percebi como funcionam os níveis, após entrar em uma aula muito avançada pra mim e perder meu acesso semanal. Sem antes receber nenhuma orientação prévia. Pelo que observei, os professores são bons e as aulas correm bem. Mas o local precisa ser melhor administrado em questões de estrutura física e principalmente front office. Só ainda estou lá, pois Cascais não oferece muitos outros estúdios. Se não fosse a escassez, pela forma que fui tratada, teria cancelado instantemente. Se queres apenas dançar, siga. Se queres se sentir bem e ser acolhido, esse não é local para si.

Warning: If you sign up, don't choose the direct debit option. I have been trying to cancel my account for a week due to an injury. I emailed twice, texted after I got no email reply, visited in person and they still didn't end my membership. Luckily I was able to call my bank to end the direct debit. I shouldn't have had to override them to get this taken care of. I won't be back and won't be recommending this studio to anyone I know
