A class with Angela is the perfect playground to discover Portuguese. I already speak Spanish and it was a lot of fun to listen and interact with Angela. Angela speaks fast about many different things at the same time. However, I loved it. It is a great way to get in touch with that positive vibe of Portuguese while learning so many things about the culture as well :)

I spent four weeks in this language school and had the best time! The class size was always very small (max. 4 students), some afternoon activities were organized and Angela was not only a great teacher but also became a friend to me. When I started classes with her, I already knew a lot of grammar, but speaking was more difficult for me. Angela always found ways to make me speak (which is not easy when you have to teach an introvert like me). Not only was she very patient with me, but she also had a "can-do" attitude that encouraged me to speak Portuguese outside of class. After four weeks, I feel much more confident, can participate in conversations with Portuguese people, and believe that with a little more practice, I can even master my best friend, the conjuntivo :-) I will definitely come back, I have already booked my flights for November this year! Muito obrigada, Angela ❤️

I would totally recommend Oficina de Português, great teachers, max 6 people lessons, private sessions can also be reserved. Definitely worth reaching them dor some details if you wish to learn/improve your Portuguese! Also very easy to reach as it's in front of the metro station!

I have been attending small group classes with breaks in between since November last year. Vanessa is among the best language teachers I have had, with main ephasis on practicing speaking. She adjusts well to the different levels (and characters) of students and addresses the weaknesses of each individual. She has a relatively informal/casual teaching style and often jokes in class, which contributed to a good atmosphere. I had a few private classes with Ângela as well and she is also among the best language teachers I have had, she has a different teaching style and usually speaks faster, which was a good challenge for me as a student. There is one thing I think the school could improve, offering more social events/irregular classes. We had one with Rita, walking around downtown to see some sights. That was great, I only wish we could have had more informal sessions outside like that. I was here for the winter though, so the weather was sometimes not cooperating for such activities.

I spent a wonderful week practicing conversation skills and learning new grammar rules with amazing fellow students from all over the world united by a common interest in Portuguese language, history and culture. Our teacher Angela has an extensive background in teaching and linguistics and was very attentive, sharing thought-provoking prompts every morning for us to discuss. Thank you for a great experience!
