I highly recommend this school to anyone looking for a warm, supportive, and efficient environment to learn Portuguese and meet wonderful people. The classes were dynamic and engaging, with small groups that allowed plenty of time to speak, practice, and really improve. Most importantly, the teacher Brendo and staff Rita - were incredibly kind, patient, and always ready to help. Their positive energy made every class something to look forward to! I can’t wait to come back to Lisbon to enroll again in this academy :)

I really recommend this Portuguese academy, they were really kind and helpful to me since the beginning. Classes with teacher Filipa were excellent, very dynamic, fun and great environment to learn with other students. I got to rehearse and clarify lots of grammatical concepts which was awesome for my personal goals. Very grateful for having this opportunity !!

As a student of several languages and a teacher myself, I was very careful to choose a language school that would work for me, and I found that in Portugues Et Cetera. I was placed correctly in the appropriate level by the pedagogical department and my teacher was just perfect. She delivered the 3-hour class each day of the 1-week intensive with energy, enthusiasm, great support for each learner's needs, and variety. Each class developed our skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing with a mixture of tasks that kept things moving and yet stretched our skills each day. By the end of the week, I really felt that I had learned how to have a successful short conversation in Portuguese, a language I have long wanted to study. I will certainly return to this school to further increase my skills and develop mastery, as the small in-person class, excellent pedagogy and fun environment are just my style.

I joined the two-week Intensive Portuguese course in April and enjoyed my time at Português Et Cetera a lot!! We were only a small class of three people which helped me to learn a lot in a very short time period. My teacher Brendo was very friendly, helpful and didn’t forget to add some humour to his lessons. The whole staff was super helpful and always in a good mood. The location of the school right in the center of Baixa was also fantastic and gave me the opportunity to discover many parts of the city after class. I can also highly recommend the local accommodations that the school is offering. I stayed with Luciana in her beautiful apartment which made my stay in Lisbon even more special and authentic. Thank you, I had a blast!!

I studied here for several months. The staff is friendly and communicative, and the atmosphere in class is supportive. The location is also convenient — near the metro and train station. But the biggest issue is the lack of structure. It’s an ongoing course, so new students join all the time. By the end, no one from my original group remained. This constant rotation, especially when combined with a teacher change, makes the course unstable and hard to follow. In the B1 module, we jumped straight to advanced topics without building a proper foundation. It felt like the course was shaped around stronger students, not a clear teaching methodology. Also, the classroom faces a very noisy street and has no air conditioning. In summer, it gets extremely hot and uncomfortable. Great people and vibe, but not ideal if you’re looking for structured, consistent learning.
