A Truly Magical Experience in Lisbon During our short stay in Lisbon, my husband and I had the incredible opportunity to take a tile painting workshop with Chiara. Despite our last-minute request, she graciously welcomed us into her studio—tucked away in the dreamiest corner of Lisbon, just beside a charming bar and restaurant where we watched the sunset with a glass of wine and a breathtaking view of the city, the whole setting was just magical. The workshop was an unforgettable experience. Her studio is filled with beauty, love, and soul—just like her art. We were so moved by hearing her personal story and witnessing the passion and care she pours into preserving and sharing the cultural tradition of tile painting and her inspirations. Every moment felt special, from learning the techniques to simply talking with her—she’s warm, inspiring, and full of life. Even though we were only in Lisbon for a day, she kindly offered to ship our hand-painted tiles to the US, which meant the world to us. We’re so grateful we didn’t miss this. It was truly one of the most meaningful parts of our trip. If you're in Lisbon—even briefly—do not miss this workshop. It’s a soulful, beautiful, and unforgettable experience that connects you to the heart of Portuguese culture in the most personal way.

This was an absolute highlight of our trip! Chira is lovely and made the experience so meaningful for our family. I originally struggled to find a tile class that included kids as young as 7, but I'm so glad I found Studio Fango - it was great for the kids (and the adults)! The Tile Museum was closed for renovations during our time in Lisbon, but Kira gave us all an intro history lesson in our class. Our tiles turned out beautifully and even made it home in intact. I cannot recommend this enough!

This was a really lovely experience for us! I did this class together with my five-year-old on the 2nd day of our Portugal trip. I specifically chose a studio that would welcome kids based on prior reviews and definitely made the right choice with Chira! She was extremely patient, encouraging, and made it fun for everyone. It was the perfect balance between learning something new and not taking things super seriously (my kiddo drew a dinosaur on her tile 😆). Super grateful to Chira that I was able to share a wonderful memory with my daughter on our trip. She even went the extra mile and packaged our finished tiles to be picked up at the cafe next door so we could grab it after the studio closed.
